Move sequences are automatically highlighted and made clickable. If the previous move number appears earlier in the comment, the sequence continues from that move. Otherwise, it's treated as a variation from the main line. This can be error-prone with multiple sequences in one comment, so please use the Preview button to check your work before posting.
To force a sequence to be treated as a main line variation, precede it with a vertical bar
(|). The copy variation button (⧉) includes this bar automatically.
For more complex discussions, you can name a sequence by adding the name in square
brackets at the end, e.g. 15.p9 [a]. Later in the same comment, or in
any following comment, you can branch off that variation by wrapping the name in vertical
bars, like this:|a| 16.o13
The variation name must start with
a letter, contain only letters, numbers, and dashes (-), and is case-sensitive.
Comments use UTF-8 encoding, so you can include emojis 😉, non-English characters, and other Unicode symbols.
You can also use HTML entities like — for an em-dash (—) or → for a right arrow (→).
For safety reasons, most HTML tags are stripped, except:
<b>, <i>, <u> — bold, italic, underline<em>, <strong> — emphasis, strong text<s>, <strike> — , — superscript, subscript<blockquote> — indented quotes
<code> — fixed-width font<pre> — multi-line preformatted text
<br> — forces a line break
Is this game an example of no obvious mistakes, or am I missing something? I have not analyzed it very deeply yet.
My best guess is that Csaba did not see the |32.j18 response coming. Maybe |31.g18 32.f20 33.m21 34.l21 is better, followed by the actual 35.o17 36.p15 37.q13, and then it looks like Csaba is winning: 38.o13 39.s14 40.p11 41.q8 42.p6 43.o9.
Under standard Twixt rules, after 49.p20 white's crossing links could not both exist, but if white just refrains from adding the new N19/P20 link, he would still have a draw, since black's response 50.n20 adding a new N20/O18 link would require the removal of M19/O20 which would give white a win. So, black still would play 50.Q22 with a draw.
Even after 33.o19 it looks like black could have won with
34.q13 35.q14 36.p15 37.r12 38.p19 39.p17 40.n20 41.l18 42.l21.
In Alan's line, how about
31.g18 32.f20 33.m21 34.l21 35.o17 36.p16 37.q18 38.q14 39.s14 40.q10 41.t11 42.p8 and black seems to win
31.g18 32.f20 33.m21 34.l21 35.o17 36.p16 37.q18 38.q14 39.s14 40.r11 41.t12 42.p10 and I still say black wins. I changed move 40 from q10 to r11.
31.g18 32.f20 33.m21 34.l21 35.o17 36.p16 37.q18 38.q14 39.s14 40.j4 41.i3 42.i2 43.h1 44.r11 45.t11 46.p10 47.p6 48.o4 and black's net looks just strong enough.
