5.m14 does not look good for white. In the opening it is difficult to have a sense of balance. Something that blocks K10 more directly might have been better, for example |5.q11 threatens white J12 or white S16.
8.i15 was a strong move by black. It threatens black i11 and also black k14 which is a double threat, or even J17. Yes that is tricky, but by itself IMO this is insufficient evidence to claim that black was using a Twixt engine.
