But I believe you were right the first time with |13.g18 Black is unable to make a tempo threat with 14.i13 threatening K14, because after 15.k13 white has his own tempo threat at M18. So black plays the standard pattern 14.h18 15.e17 16.g16 17.f14 18.f13 which loses after 19.e12 20.g15 21.f15 22.e11 23.h16 23.k13 threatening H16 or M18.
