On resigning, I mentioned I thought I should have played 11.t10

Flemming responded with |11.t10 12.s12 13.q11 14.r11

Hmm -- |11.t10 12.s12 13.t11 looks playable

Resignation seems premature. For example after |13.i15 14.g18 15.m13 16.l14 loses to 17.o12. black did have a way to win, and what matters is whether he would have seen it not you, but until you are completely certain you are losing, IMO it is better to play on.

|11.t10 12.s12 13.q11 14.r11 15.i15 16.g18 17.o12 18.q9 19.m13 20.l13 21.k14 22.j7 23.f8 looks very good for white. or 20.k12 21.k14 22.h11 23.g12 24.j10 25.h10 26.h6 27.j9 28.k7 29.k6 30.l5 31.i7 or 18.q13 19.o14 20.m12 21.m13 or 20.n13 21.m13 or 18.n13 19.n14 or 16.q9 17.h19 18.h15 19.l14 or 18.j19 19.h17 20.f20 21.g19 22.h21 23.i21

So I agree T10 would have been better. Black S12 would normally work against T10, but white has threats to connect to the left through the middle of the board.

thanks, David!

I failed to see a viable way to bridge that m11-m16 gap

|13.i15 14.g18 15.m13 16.n14 17.o12 18.p13 and black doesn't need the o10 group any more, or 17.o14 18.l13

Another line I should have mentioned is
|11.t10 12.s12 13.q11 14.r11 15.i15 16.l14 17.k12 18.n13 19.i19 20.j19 21.h17 22.h20 23.d19 24.h12 25.g14 26.f13 27.e13 28.d12 29.j13 30.f20 31.c21 32.e18 33.e17 or 26.j13 27.g12 28.e15 29.e13 30.f20 31.c21 32.e18 33.e17

Maybe it would be simpler for white to play o12 before i15, but this way seems to work so I'm sticking to it.

I was wrong about black losing to |13.i15 14.g18 15.m13 16.l14 17.o12 because 18.p12 but my point was that white still had some tricks.

SO that illustrates another important point, DON'T TRUST ME.

heh -- well, I do know better than to expect that you are the ultimate arbiter of TwixT truth

but you do provide insightful and useful analysis that I still often overlook and I try to learn from it
