Why do we create a new blank board for each move?

not for each move, but it soon gets a mess. If you look at our last move discussion, that's about the maximum amount of text which is easily readable I think. Otherwise you have always to look for the beginning of the discussion of the move you wanna play and you can easily jump from one line to another because you lost track.
