4.q12 This move forms a nice pattern with J15 (for example M15 or N12) and also has some power to the south, which allows us to make threats going south around Q14. M15 and N12 are very strong, I wanted to post some common answers, but they almost all look the same, something like 5.o126.n157.n148.m179.o1610.p18 So team, if you think you see a good answer for white, please post it, so that we can look if we like this variation or not.
4.q11 This move doesn't form a pattern as strong as Q12, but it still has some power to the south. Common answers: 5.r126.p9 5.n116.o15
Maybe I'm too focussed on black (like often in my games), I just couldn't find any real good answer for white for any of those 3 moves. So I have trouble comparing these moves. Well I'm gonna search for good answers for white later, I'm sure there have to be some, I just can't see them.
Also possible answers to Q12 and P11 could be somewhere around H11, the problem is that H11 is far away from Q14 and after 5.h116.k17 white is probably forced to go through the middle for example 7.o13 followed by something like 8.n11 or 8.p19

|1.g42.j153.q144.p11 By the way the 5.l10 line is only hypothetical, I think 6.n15 would be a good answer in this case, example: 7.s158.o13 and P11 is connected to the right.

4.q11 This move doesn't form a pattern as strong as Q12, but it still has some power to the south. Common answers:
5.r12 6.p9
5.n11 6.o15
4.p11 This move is only semi connected to the right side, but it has more power to the middle. Common answers:
5.r11 6.q13 7.s13 8.q9 9.s9 10.p15 11.p16 12.o17 13.o18 14.r5 mousetrap
the m14 pattern we've seen before doesn't work too: 5.q9 6.r12 7.s13 8.t13 9.n11 10.n12
also a good move if they are 'wind-milling': 5.s13 6.q9

Hi Maaaraca,
I agree with your consideration about a medium distance block : 4.p10 5.n11
Regarding 4.q12 I suppose that you wanted to say it forms a nice pattern with m12 and n15, not with m15 and n12
As for white answers to 4.q12, what about
5.m12 6.n15 7.o13
5.m12 6.n15 7.n14 8.o17 9.m16
5.m12 6.o13 7.m16
...and I feel it as being too "local" at this stage of the game.
As for white answers to 4.q11, what about
4.q11 5.l12
I cannot see a good answer to 4.p11.
As an alternative, I'd propose 4.o9 more than 4.o8
But all in one I think that I prefer 4.p11
Here my answers to your M12 lines:
|1.g4 2.j15 3.q14 4.q12 5.m12 6.n15 7.o13 8.q18
|1.g4 2.j15 3.q14 4.q12 5.m12 6.n15 7.n14 8.m17 and same as my example line that starts with O12 or 9.s15 10.p10 11.o13 12.l10
Here is what I mean with moves near the horizontal W2 diagonal can be dangerous:
5.l10 threatening the middle and the Achilles at the same time, for example 6.m14 7.r11 8.q9 9.s9 10.r5 11.q8 12.p6 13.o7 14.n7 15.m8 16.l8 17.k8
Also possible answers to Q12 and P11 could be somewhere around H11, the problem is that H11 is far away from Q14 and after
5.h11 6.k17 white is probably forced to go through the middle for example 7.o13 followed by something like 8.n11 or 8.p19
|1.g4 2.j15 3.q14 4.p11 5.n12 6.o13 7.l13 8.n15 9.j14 10.k17 11.i16 12.h18 13.h19 14.i20 15.g17 16.g21 17.e20 18.f20 19.f22 20.d19 21.g20 22.g18 23.h20 24.g19 25.f19 26.f21 27.d18 28.e19 29.c20 30.c21 31.d21 32.e22 33.d23 34.b19 ... but I must have gone wrong very early!
|1.g4 2.j15 3.q14 4.p11 5.l12 ?
